Vinted users have been reacting angrily after an update resulted in items being listed as the wrong size.

The popular resale platform has altered its measurement guidelines for female and kids' apparel but did not contact every member regarding the update.

Online Platforms Backlash

Numerous buyers and vendors have taken to social media claiming that product pages now present a modified sizing category compared to what was initially listed as a result of the reclassification.

The platform stated the new system was more in line with comparable marketplaces.

The platform has recommended to examine their items and adjust the sizing manually if necessary, resulting in member annoyance.

Measurement Approach Modifications

Before the change, the sizes had both a single numeric size and a letter, for instance S/8 or M/10.

The revised method features a letter with a size spectrum such as S/UK 8-10.

In some cases, the measurements have been reclassified - for example a size L was previously a 12 but currently displays as UK 16-18.

Shopper Accounts

One content creator, who creates plus-size fashion videos, said the change "makes both selling and buying harder".

"Few clothing companies classify XL as 20-22," the way the service now categorizes.

Another user, from Glasgow, stated items she posted featuring size 14 markings were appearing on the platform as size 20–22.

"If buyers measuring 20-22 acquire them they're going to be very disappointed," she explained.

Necessary Adjustments

Another shopper, based in Derby, stated she felt frustrated by the change as she had to manually change the measurements for "each individual item".

"Personally, this is quite irritating, as I'm chronically ill and platform income has been essential for me since losing part of my income," she stated.

Marketplace Information

The service features exceeding 100 million users, with 18 million British users.

It has emerged as a preferred choice versus similar marketplaces including eBay and Depop.

This represents another occasion when a surprising modification on the platform has faced criticism: previously, the platform withdrew an update regarding delivery choices after backlash from users.
