"I warn my defender 'I'm not staying' and that I'm just going to continue running.

"The running is what I'm after. It's enjoyable."

Along with the forward's six scores on his first game, Stephen Ireland has scored 8 in 3 appearances for Wythenshawe, while George Boyd scored five on his debut match and Lescott, a defender by position, scored a hat-trick in one match as a striker.

The team are top of the Premier Division with 3 wins from three and a GD of plus nineteen.

Paul Barrow, 38, who features on the flank for the opposition, faced former Wigan defender Figueroa on the weekend - and had to tell his nine-year-old boy who Emile Heskey was.

Figueroa has played at 2 global tournaments for Honduras, in addition to featuring in over 200 top-flight matches.

"It was going round like wildfire they had these ex-Premier League stars," remarked the player.

"I think I was a little starstruck facing Figueroa to be honest.

"Also Heskey came on and he's got over 60 English appearances.

"Our side competed well for a good 20 minutes but then we had a player dismissed and it was tough.

"Our group literally haven't stopped chatting about it - I was phoning my mother and sibling on the journey home.

"The opponents were all dead sound, shaking our hands after the match - it was like playing a group of normal fellas.

"Now we are eager for the second match."
