Since the launch of Campaign 4, fresh DM Brennan Mulligan has kept viewers on edge with rich lore, a wide array of heroes, and a gripping narrative featuring angels, evil spirits, and sinister influences expanding in influence within Dol-Makjar.
Note: Key plot points for the third episode of Campaign 4 are included.
The Warrior Group Unveiled
Episode 3 concluded with a huge suspense moment and introduced the first table of characters who will separate from the primary party to undertake their own adventure, distinct from the other two tables.
The Soldiers table consists of the determined fighter (brought to life by Travis Willingham), the agile character (Laura Bailey), the strong-willed figure (the cast member), Wicander (Sam Riegel), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie Daymond).
Dividing the Cast
Considering 13 cast members, it was clear from the start that having everyone at the same party would be unfeasible.
That’s why, the first four episodes of this story serve as an Prelude, intertwining the individual narratives before dividing into three separate parties: Fighters, Planners, and Questers.
The Nature of the Combat Party
Per the DM, the Soldiers table is for players who enjoy a typically action-packed battle-oriented story mode where non-violent answers are scarce.
Initially, characters like the hesitant healer the cleric might look out of place, but the events of the third episode demonstrate why these particular heroes are ideally matched for the Soldiers table.
Why They Must Go
For one thing, the party understands precisely where to proceed after a violent initial meeting with the enemy group.
An old friend of Thjazi—whose death started the campaign’s events—exploited The Crow Keepers for his own means, entering the hidden lair, striking the character, and taking all the powerful objects to dispose of.
Casimir then cleared his debts and fled to a Halovar stronghouse in the northern region, beyond Dol-Makjar, with Cyd Pridesire hot on his heels.
Individual Reasons
Moreover, each character has a specific drive to leave the city the metropolitan area:
- The rogue, as the companion and best friend, desires vengeance.
- The adventurer has experience in the region and advises that it is a dangerous location.
- The warrior and Wicander, having defied his house’s orders to kill the target and instead saved him, have no safe haven.
- But, their reputation as key figures in House Halovar could assist the group reach areas they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Moreover, The fighter swore a eternal obligation to The savior for his rescue and will now go with him everywhere.
Pursued by Authorities
Finally, all of them are sought by the rulers that rule the city for a variety of reasons, making remaining behind no longer safe:
- The agile adventurer and The hero are notorious outlaws.
- The warrior and The cleric betrayed the influential house and the horde of evil beings they are partnered with.
- Teor is targeted for elimination by the clan.
This results in them no alternative but to journey toward the northern region in search of the traitor.
Upcoming Developments
Based on episode three’s follow-up content, we discover that the Soldiers table will not appear next week, leaving the other eight cast members to assemble the Questers and Planners tables.
Audiences can expect discovering which adventurers will be assigned to which table in the story’s last Overture episode, released on the upcoming Thursday.
