In late 2018, Steve Bannon, previously Donald Trump's chief strategist, was in the UK preparing for a speech at the prestigious Oxford Union.

The speech was disrupted by hundreds of demonstrators, and Bannon, scheduled to board a flight that evening, informed Jeffrey Epstein in an email: "Activists slowed down my talk don't think I can make the flight we r enroute to heathrow".

Epstein responded: "That. Is a Gulf Air that leaves at 9:50 with a stop in Bahrain". Bannon replied: "U r an amazing helper".

These exchanges were released on Wednesday together with over 20,000 pages from the estate of Epstein, the late convicted sex offender.

The release by the House oversight committee contains an iMessage chat where Bannon's identity is withheld. Media outlets has been able to establish his identity by cross-referencing the timeline, events, and places mentioned.

For instance, Epstein discusses chartering a plane from Scotland for the unnamed individual in the chat, and commends their "Oxford speech". Bannon took part in the News Xchange conference on November 14, and delivered the talk at the Oxford on November 16.

Bannon, who is not accused of any misconduct, declined to comment on the request for comment.

'I'll make sure you're well looked after'

Bannon served as Trump's key advisers in the lead-up to the 2016 election and in the early days of his first administration, but stepped down from the White House in 2017.

He has acknowledged he was producing a film about Epstein prior to his passing and reportedly has approximately 15 hours of recordings. In a live taping of his show recently, he stated: "We're going to release the series, the multi-part documentary, in the coming year - at the start of next year."

But the newly released documents suggest Bannon's connection with Epstein went further than documenting his life, with the disgraced financier at times appearing to serve like a personal assistant.

A few days before the conversation in which Epstein seemed to arranged a private plane for Bannon, Epstein remarked: "how does it feel to have the most highly paid travel agent in the world ".

Bannon expressed gratitude: "U r quite capable assistant", to which Epstein replied "Therapies. Excluded".

Discussing a trip to "AD" in another message, Epstein told Bannon: "I will ensure you're well looked after."

British Affairs Mentioned in Messages

The released messages also show Bannon and Epstein discussing British political matters in that year.

On the day of his address at the Oxford Union, Bannon texted Epstein: "I became involved in the Brexit issue this day with Farage, Johnson and Rees Mogg."

Then, in what appears to be a reference to the UK prime minister, the embattled British leader at the time, he continued: "The guys are attempting to move on. May soon…"

Epstein suggested Bannon: "In my view staying as much as you can uk. Best-- so people see the dedication of your follow-up."

Shortly after, Epstein asked: "Can Theresa May remain in power". Bannon replied: "It seems unlikely however the guys here have little courage" and added "Boris ; Gove; Jacob Rees-Mogg; David Davis - someone has to step up".

May was eventually toppled in 2019 after withstanding two votes of lack of support in late 2018.

A spokesman for the political party told media: "Farage has never been in a meeting with Bannon, Jacob Rees Mogg and Johnson." And there is nothing to suggest such a meeting took place.

The US House of Representatives will vote next week on whether the Department of Justice should make public all its files related to its probe into Epstein, who died in jail in that year.

Attention in Epstein's associations with influential individuals was reignited this week after the publication of more than 20,000 pages from his estate.

Some of those referenced the former president, who has consistently rejected any impropriety. The president was a friend of Epstein's for a long time, but says they parted ways in the early 2000s, two years prior to Epstein was first arrested.
